Just a couple of doodles

Just passing time the other day, I sat down to do a couple of doodles.

I had no plan other than to have some fun and see where it took me. The results got a bit weird, but may also be a result of the objects I’m practising on drawing at the moment.

I want to get better at drawing humans and animals, and I guess this was a way to draw them in different settings..

Anyway, this is how it looked:

  1. Doodling is fun. I’m learning a little about “zentangles” — which is another way of doodling. I doodled yesterday afternoon while at a doctor’s appointment with my husband. I might post my doodle on my blog — or maybe not. Your doodles are much more interesting than mine. 🙂

    1. It sure is, Judith 🙂 I’ve never heard about zentangles, but a quick google search might have given me a hunch. I think you should post your doodles. I bet they’re awesome! 🙂

      1. My doodling isn’t much to look at, but I did take the “doodling” idea and used it for a Christmas card design at our art club meeting yesterday afternoon. I will probably post it too. It was fun to do. I still don’t feel very comfortable drawing and sketching around other artists — especially when the piece will be given to someone — so doodling was a lot more relaxing than trying to draw a Christmas scene. 🙂

      2. Sounds like a lot og fun!😊 I also find doodling more relaxing than drawing. It can feel a bit more free, and less intimidating regarding possible mistakes 😊

      3. Exactly. Some of the artists in our group are incredibly talented. It’s easy for a beginner like me to get intimidated. I’m starting to feel more comfortable as I get better acquainted with the others, but for special projects (like our Christmas cards) that will be given out to members… well, yep, that was still intimidating. 🙂 Doodling was an easy way around it.

      4. As beginners I think we are all a bit insecure when it comes to making paintings or drawings in front of others. I don’t think they’re as critical as we are to ourself though 🙂
