Finally a watercolour painting I’m pleased with!
It’s probably because I moved my scenery from urban surroundings and out to the landscapes, which just felt more right.
I also feel that the colours – in the way they are blended and the amount of them – looks much better and with more depth than my recent ones.
I haven’t used any reference photos for this painting. Just working out of imagination.
Looking at it now, however, there’s no doubt I’ve been inspired by the work of Carsten Wieland, and his brilliant collection of paintings from Ireland.
So, for my future attempts, I think I’ll spend more time looking at landscapes 🙂
