Back in 2014 we spent about four weeks traveling in the US.
First we spent two weeks driving through California, Nevada and Arizona.
Then we took a flight to New York, and spent about two weeks there.
One of the first places we visited was Los Angeles.
I guess we couldn’t avoid the turist trap of heading down to Santa Monica beach.
The beach was very nice, though, and not to crowded at all.
And I couldn’t resist taking a photo of the lifeguard tower.
I have watched Baywatch, after all…

To get a little break from all the digital drawings I’ve been making lately, I decided to do a quick sketch og the lifeguard tower.
Not a beauty, bit it ended up like this:

It was nice to reminisce for a bit while I was drawing it.
That sounds like a good trip! My regards B
Thank you! It was a very good trip indeed. And soon we learned that when people ask “how are you?”, they don’t actually want your complete life story 😉
Great drawing Kim
Thank you, Elaine 🙂 I’ve been spending about all my time doing digital drawings lately, so it was nice to get back to the pen and brushes for a while 🙂
I know it’s good to change it about 😊
I find that I need to take a break from different mediums from time to time, so switching it up gives me the motivation to keep a steady pace 🙂

Thank you! 😀
Great. Im glad you got to go there. I lived there quite a while. Its full of eneegy.
Ah, how nice! I would love to go back some day. The drive up highway 1 was excellent as well!☺
Nice sketch! I was wondering if you could share a good source of watercolor tutorials. I’ve been experimenting on my own but I think I need a step by step approach by a pro.
Thank you, Melissa 🙂 I’ve been using Tim Wilmot’s youtube-tutorials for my watercolour training. He has a loose style, which I do like. There’s tons of videos on his channel, so that would be my best tip 🙂
Thank you! I’ll take a look.
