Evening Walks

As far as I’ve understood, today is the darkest day of the year.

So I wanted to do a painting from the lightest part of the year.

The days where the sun is up all evening, and the light (at least in Norway) lasts through the night.

Tomorrow we start the journey back to those days.

And day by day you get just a little bit more of the light.

  1. Elegantly said, and beautifully illustrated! I love the painting. You have honestly motivated me to start teaching myself to paint with watercolors.

  2. I like your lovely atmospheric watercolour. Here in Australia it’s just been the longest day and summer is starting to warm up so your cool landscape is good to look at!.

    1. Thank you, Sue! That makes me so happy, being able to reach someone on the other side of the world 🙂 I’m not too fond of the heat, but I would love to go to Australia one day. I’m a bit worried about all those big spiders, though 😀

    1. I bet it is! Where I live the sun isn’t up all night, but it’s so near the horizon that the light shines on through the night. In Northern Norway, though, they have something called “midnattssol” (Midnight sun) in the summer, where the sun actually never goes down below the horizon. I haven’t seen it myself, but I’ll need to some day 🙂

I would love it if you left me a few words
