Threshold – A Digital Exploration

When I take a photo of a painting I’ve made, I use photoshop to edit it.

It usually needs cropping.

And quite often both light and colour needs to be strengthened to resemble the actual painting.

One day while doing this, I accidentally clicked on an effect called threshold.

This is an effect that makes photos into high-contrast, black-and-white images.

And I was really intrigued by how it looked.

So I startet putting more and more photos through the process:

I definitely got a bit eager.

And I still like how it looks.

But I don’t know if there’s something to it, other than having some fun.

So what do you think?

Would you put one of these on your wall?

  1. I tested it out with my drawings (both black pen only and with colours) a while ago. It is a fun way to make colour painting/drawing into sharp black and white. I like the look of it in both cases.

I would love it if you left me a few words
