It’s Tough Being a Crab

When I was a kid (and still to this day, to be honest), I always start turning over rocks when I’m down by the water.

The reason, of course, being the possibility of finding a crab.

As a kid, when we wanted to catch a big one, we also used to put some goodies on a clothespin, tied to a string.

The crab caught the little treat, and hung on for the ride up to our bucket.

It was such a thrill catching one.

Trying to pick them up without looking as shakingly afraid as I (and hopefully others) felt for those big claws.

Needless to say, they were all freed from the bucket to return to the wild.

But it’s a tough life being a crab.
