Thank you, Anna! I really appreciate it 🙂 Oils was the medium I started out painting with in 2015, and the medium I’ve spent the most time on by far. I’m very glad you like them 🙂
I have to go with Day in the Park. Having once been a young girl myself I would have loved to be there. Your work on the greenery is terrific. Something in the Sky has to be second place. I guess I’m into green. It isn’t easy to get away with a green sky. (I want to try it sometime.) Third is the palm tree. I’m very fond of palm trees. I’m very fond of beaches. Your beach paintings are nice but somehow too empty. Is that why you are doing boats on the beach now?

Thank you for all your kind words! 🙂 I do think green may be your colour 😀
Since oils were my first medium I didn’t really have the skill or courage to add much details to my paintings. Especially adding people were a very scary thought, since it could end up ruining the whole painting. I think adding boats – and some people here and there – is my way of taking it a step further. I’ve seen a lot of tutorials by Tim Wilmot, which I think has done an impact on my style 🙂
Thank you, Steve 🙂 Your oil paintings looks great 🙂 I think the colours look pretty vivid, yes. But I started using them really early on, so I can’t really say that I thought to much about the oil colours when I used them 🙂
I figured it would be easier to comment here rather than on every individual painting in this gallery~ You are extremely talented, good sir! I see you also have quite the affinity for nature… it works very much to your advantage! Have an excellent day!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate this ☺ Nature and landscapes are the inspiration for most of my paintings, mixing in an increasing amount of people and urban objects. There is nothing that beats raw nature, though ☺
Hi Kim. You’ve just liked some of my own paintings, so I thought I would check out your page. I think you’re doing an amazing job for someone that is learning from scratch. I think your watercolours are your strongest works: you should develop these. How do you paint? Outdoors from observation? I look forward to following your progress x
Hello, Jonathan! And thank you for visiting 🙂 Yes, I did check out some of your paintings. You have a very interesting and original style. I also like the way you’ve managed your website 🙂
And thank you for your kind words, by the way! I’m very glad you like my watercolours. That’s the medium I enjoy the most, but I don’t always find the time for it. I’ll keep painting as much as I can, though 🙂
I’ve never painted outdoors, even though I bet it’s a whole new experience. I just make up stuff in my head, or get inspired by different photos or artwork I see online.
I should get outside the door, though, I just don’t have the confidence for it yet 🙂
Hello there Placid! Well done! I love seeing your progress from year to year. It also makes me want to visit Norway. Isn’t it so neat to see the progress after even half a year of working on things?
A big thank you to you as well for just as consistently following on my blog and giving it a like it now and then.
Hi there, Bridget! And thank you so much 🙂 It’s very fun to see my progress year after year, and how a style has evolved without me even knowing it. And I do recommend visiting Norway sometime, by the way. I think it’s worth while 🙂
I think you have some brilliant paintings. Especially the idea of making bookmarks looks so much fun! I may just try that for gifts sometime 🙂
I enjoy looking at all your work, particularly your oils. A terrific collection over-all.

Some really good ones here, well done!
Thank you very much! 🙂 Oil painting is what I started out with, so they do have a special place in my heart 🙂
Beautiful.
Thank you, Annlyel ☺
very nice Kim, i have never used water oil paints, much easier to clean up. Is it possible to get vivid colours using them.
Thank you, Steve 🙂 Your oil paintings looks great 🙂 I think the colours look pretty vivid, yes. But I started using them really early on, so I can’t really say that I thought to much about the oil colours when I used them 🙂
I like your work. Field at Dawn is my favorite!
Thank you very much, Norbert! 🙂 I like how the grass and bushes worked out on that one 🙂
Love them all, but my favorite is Night Sailing. I love ships. 😉
Thanks a million 🙂 I do to. The sails were very fun painting, using a palette knife. It gave them an interesting look 🙂
Yes, it did. I like the sails very much. 😊
I really loved the plain field and the birch tree. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind comment! I’m very glad you enjoyed them ☺

The one that caught my eye was Something Bright. Of course, I’ve always had an eye for vibrant colors and you used them well!
Thank you so much, Stephanie! I had a real fun time painting that one, so I’m very glad you like it 🙂
